The black and white striped Nemyss is a traditional part of the Outer Order Regalia. It is a representation of life, divine light, and the ankh. The nemyss has strong symbolism and a very old historical connection with the magic of ancient Egypt; appearing in its more formal shape on statues such as the head of King Tutankhamun. This nemyss is somewhat simpler and reflects a more common style. The material is cut in the shape of a truncated pyramid, the top the narrow wedge and the bottom the wide. It is made from a poly-cotton blend and the stripes are approximately one inch wide.
